My Experiment with The DENIAL Law of Healing

I've been busy teaching my Love Heals class and truly enjoyed all the interactions with the students.  I am grateful for how much I have learned and grown as a result of teaching this class.

I wanted to tell you about my use of the DENIAL (NO) Law of Healing from Catherine Ponder's book DYNAMIC LAWS OF HEALING.  Of course, it reminds me of a song,

so click here to listen to one way of SAYING NO

I have had 3 rounds of chemo with Ixempra and had horrific headaches for 7-10 days after each of the first two treatments - significant enough that I was on a prescription painkiller.  Just before my 3rd treatment, I had just read about this law, which seemed strange, as it is very different from affirmations.  But, I decided to perform an experiment on myself.
bulldogs,colds,domestic,fotolia,headaches,hot water bag,packs,pets,rests,symptoms

This is a conscious, emphatic DENIAL. Whenever I felt a headache coming on, I would say out loud "NO NO NO!  IT IS NOT SO!  I DO NOT ACCEPT THIS APPEARANCE.  IT HAS NO POWER. IT IS NOTHING! IT IS NOT REAL!"

The pain would then disappear IMMEDIATELY.  I was so convinced after the first attempt was successful that I did it several times over the course of about a week and it kept the headache away without the aid of drugs.  I was amazed and oh so happy!  I'm continuing to use it to talk to my can-can. Imagine the power in that.  I also added some affirmations at the end like.  I AM LOVED.  I AM HEALED.

I started a LOVE HEALS page on Facebook.  If you wish to view it, click here.... Love Heals FB Page

Love and hugs for you,
Magnificent Maggie

  1. Maggie, thank you for your post and for the song Saying No. I too am learning to say no. I am learning who to say yes to and to say know (NO) to all my cultural conditioning. I realize in reading the last sentence, I seem to have made a Freudian slip. The (NO) in parentheses was added after I reread the sentence. What a joy the many ways the universe teaches me truth?

In honor of the word NO here is a nesting poem I've written.
    NO MORE RULES!
    by Margaret McConnell

    NO MORE RULES!

    NO MORE RULES!
    Leave me alone.

    NO MORE RULES!
    Leave me alone,
    I will be all right.

    NO MORE RULES!
    Leave me alone.
    I will be all right.
Deep inside I know where I am going.

    NO MORE RULES!
    Leave me alone.
    I will be all right.
    Deep inside I know where
    I am going.
The truth will set me free.

  2. I remember the nonono song by the Isley Brothers. It really makes me dizzy to shake my head like that!!!! I say " No, no, no, nope, not happening; that's crap. It's not real and it's NOT happening. It works.
    Hugs,
    T

  3. Thanks for the reply Maggie. Depression has been my teacher and it has given me many wonderful lessons. I have also found your posts most uplifting when I have been in a dark place. Your no.,no, no song so reflects my learning about my deepest truth that too often is hidden at least for a moment beyond my awareness. As I am getting more in touch with my anger, which usually is telling me I need to say no to something, my universe is expanding beyond my wildest dreams and in those blissful moments of oneness, I know everything is alright all the time. Namaste, Margaret
